As life would have it, Brooke’s time with us was much too short … but yet she lived each and every day to its fullest potential. Her motto was, "enjoy what you are doing and let everyone know all about it!" She danced for every meal, played with her toys even if they were missing the stuffing, demanded to be loaded in the truck first if it was a dog show weekend and alerted us to the neighbour’s cat if he dared to set one paw on our side of the country fence.

Brooke was a great-granddaughter to our Inook and Tarna and loved to show. She was once called a wild woman by the specialty judge who gave her that prestigious win as a veteran … he said he just couldn’t deny her. She was also described as a stick of dynamite in a small package. You get the picture, I’m sure!

She completed her Canadian and American championships with ease … the latter with all majors, which is no small feat. As a mother she was devoted to her puppies, even welcoming them back for a weekend of dogsitting. As a grandmother she was the ring leader, showing them how to dig holes and get dirty before I could catch them.

Not a day goes by that we don’t think about her … or say, "that's something that Brooke would do!" I hope that I can live up to her motto, each and every day.
