Members' Rights

The IAM Constitution Guarantees every union member these following rights :
The Right to Membership Regardless of Sex, race, or national origin.
The Right to Attend union meetings and speak freely.
The Right to Nominate members for union office, in the local and international union.
The Right to Vote by secret ballot on nominees for union offices.
The Right to Voice and a Vote on proposals for wage increases and improved working conditions to be negotiated with management.
The Right to Speak out against any policy or candidate for the union office without fear or interference.
The Right to Run any union office.
The Right to a Secret Ballot vote on any strike action.
The Right to receive strike benefits as outlined in the IAM constitution.
The Right to receive an Accounting of all union finances from the local, district, and international union.
The Right to be fully informed on union policy through offical publications and circulars.
The Right to propose changes in the IAM Constitution.
The Right to elect local union delegates to IAM Conventions, where Constitutional changes are voted
