Richard Pepper's
Activities
2025

The links below will take you to various posts marked with that particular "label" (usually with pictures or videos) in my blog. They will appear in reverse chronological order.

This will mean that, as I continue to post in 2026 and beyond, you will have to scroll down to find this year, or use the year/month navigation at the left.

Or simply click Highlights of 2025 only instead.

Below is a description of my life much as it had been in 2026:

My paid work this year included Crossing Guard, Standardized Patient at the Northern Ontario Medical School (c. once a month Sept. - May), Music Care at Pioneer Ridge Home each Friday morning. As well, I played guitar for the Pope John Paul II School Choir for some events.

I continue to sing as a volunteer at Pinewood Court and Pioneer Ridge.

I no longer on the board, but I am a holder of a Distinguished Service Award with Cambrian Players, and my theatre involvement is now primarily through the Cambrian Improv Group, though highlights of 2025 were my performances with Applauze Productions in Guys and Dolls, and Magnus Theatre in The Muppet Script.

I participated in all three weeks of Camp Gitchigomee, and I was staff for most of Classic Boys in August at Manitoba Pioneer Camp. I also attended their Spring Celebration in March in Winnipeg.

My activities have continued be in smaller social circles, and away from larger institutions: visits with my mother, the "Vinyl Boys" (Record-Listening friends), Thursday Night Open Mic at Lakehead Beer, Monday Night Open Mic at The Foundry, and the P-W Family whom I visit most weekends.

Family

"Family" this year for the most part meant visiting/appointments with my mother, including birthdays, and christmas. A highlight was my mother's 90th birthday, for which my sister and brother-in-law came from Georgia.

Church

Not much to report here, except that I did a few musical things for Gathering Table Anglican Church. I wasn't called on as a substitute sermonizer, despite the appeal to the Bishop (since I'm not actually a Lay Reader or an Anglican). I believe the decision was referred back to GT; I've not actually heard the result, but I gather it was a no thank you. So, I'm between churches right now.

Also in February we celebrated the life of Dr. John Whitfield who was an elder for much of my time with Northwood Park Church.

MPC

I spent Aug. 3 - 11 at "Classic Boys Camp" at Manitoba Pioneer Camp. I couldn't stay the whole session because I had rehearals for The Muppet Script with Magnus Theatre. I also drove to Manitoba in March for "Spring Celebration" events in Winnipeg.

Theatre

In 2025 Cambrian Players staged The Snow Queen, Sleuth (for which I operated the sound for a couple of nights), and Of Marriage Minded Misses.

Most of my theatre involvement in 2025 was with Cambrian Improv who continue to meet on Sunday evenings, and put on 7 shows.

We also did guest performances or workshops for ThunderCon, Crossing Guards, and a Senior Citizen Group.
