Most of the following picture or text links take you to a Blog entry with more pictures.

"Picnic"
June 28

We had planned to go to Centennial Park as we did last year, but the skies threatened rain. Some people believed it would be too buggy there; and perhaps it was too windy (in which case, it probably wouldn't have been buggy).

Anyway, we ate our meal in the basement, and I think the kids had fun playing with my toys. Kristian enjoyed driving Lightning and Mack round and round the tables in a vain search for California, and asked me to take a picture of him with them.

Music

I wrote this song years ago, but made this video for it this month.

Watch it fullsize at Youtube.

This link will take you to a youtube slideshow of Manitoba Pioneer Camp pix set to two medleys I recorded a few years ago of "Gospel" music: one on fiddle (& grungy guitar) & one on harmonica.

See my gigs page re. my own small part in our church's coffeehouse on Bob Dylan's birthday (May 24th).

Most of my musical energy these days is put into playing guitar for Pope John Paul II (the school choir, that is!), church and Senior homes.

On June 24th I played on the Fort William Gardens stage for the Pope before a crowd of a couple of thousand people: Pope John Paul II ...

the school, that is!! ... along with the choir and some student instrumentalists (plus Noah Cain, the ringer bass player) for their Grade 8 grad ceremony.

My favourite part of this gig was the medley accompanying the slideshow, comprising "Be True to Your School", "Fun Fun Fun" and ... "School's Out"!!!

So to restate I have now played Alice Cooper for the Pope in a stadium concert!!

This mention of my music in the local paper certainly came as a surprise!!

Camp Gitchigomee

No pictures, but we did have a couple of staff meetings for Senior Week. There are still camper spaces available!

Celebs

Elizabeth May
June 22

I heard on the 1800h news that the leader of the National Green Party was speaking at 1900h at Lakehead University (to promote her book Losing Confidence). On a whim I headed over and found Ms. May very interesting and personable.

Theatre/Acting

Click here for a couple of pix of the Cambrian Players Exhibit at the Thunder Bay Museum (Donald St.). There actually is a picture of me on display there. The exhibit runs until Labour Day.

I was acclaimed Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Cambrian Playersat the June 25 AGM.

Here's a pic of Leon Bullock receiving his thank you gift for serving on the Board.
If I want a bottle of wine, all I have to do is leave the board.
