One in Spirit, Fun and Love

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Saturday, November 29th, 2008
St. Michael's Anglican Church -- Red River Road

5 p.m.

For camp staff, clergy and Camp G. Corporation Members
plus those who have volunteered at Work Weekends etc.

Corporation Membership

With the recent incorporation of Camp Gitchigomee we have a new structure for decision-making. The corporation is made up of members; anyone supportive of the Camp's objectives may complete an application and submit a nominal $5 fee to become a member.

At the Annual General Meeting, members elect six Directors (the "Board"), who then make policy and operating decisions with help from various standing committees.

The Directors meet the third Tuesday of most months and members are welcome at these meetings to provide input for their decisions. (Contact us for location.)

Friends of Camp Gitchigomee
"Friends of Camp Gitchigomee was started this year to help meet our annual financial needs (such as the high cost of liability insurance) and to begin setting aside funds for building and equipment upgrades. It was also started to raise the level of awareness and support of the camp and the wonderful experiences and opportunities it provides.

We are asking for a yearly donation of $25.00 or more from camp alumni and supporters, but insist that any donations are not taken from those normally made to local churches. Financial donations are not required to be a "Friend of Camp Gitchigomee". Donations of time and talent and most importantly prayers are most gratefully received also.

All supporters will receive newsletters about the camp (and our most heartfelt thanks).

Electronic Offering Program

Through churches of the Anglican Deanery of Thunder Bay you can direct a monthly automatic withdrawal to the support of Camp Gitchigomee. Again we ask that donations not be taken from those normally made to local churches.

Husky Reward Cards
This is the easiest of our Fund Raisers. All you have to do is ask us for a Husky Reward Card and swipe it every time you make a purchase of gas or food at the Husky Stations and they send us a cheque for 2% of your purchase (except on Lottery or Tobacco purchases). Contact us today and start swiping. Last year they sent us just over $500.00.

Canadian Tire Money
Each camp rep will accept Canadian Tire Money which we use to purchase much-needed sports equipment each year. It adds up quickly. Last year we bought $53.00 in new sports equipment.

Quality Market Tapes
We used to collect A. & P. receipts and turn them in for cash.
A big Thank You goes to Betty Gottfred who ran this program for eight years! During that time a total of $2,762.11 was raised for the camp!!

Thank you, Sandra Rejall, who has volunteered to run a similar program through Quality Market. All receipts must be dated April 1/2007 or later.
