Rusty Brown has released four independent music CDs. His alternative musical style has been described as a combination of punk, rock, and folk, or "prolk!" Composition and improvisation are at the heart of Rusty’s music. The term cycloid refers to the line created by a point on the circumference of a circle as it rolls along. A cycloid line is generated by every individual on the earth as we spin round and round in our orbit through space. We all make a cycloid line through the universe.
The name dollop is a pallindrome basd on the visual image and shape of the word dollop. Most of the tracks on this CD are experimental pop melodies and soundscapes created by layering instrumental tracks and vocals. Often tracks are reversed or inverted and new melodies are discovered.
Rusty’s latest album is called C+. Although he writes for all genres of music, from pop to rock to jazz to opera, his latest CD landed in the country realm. Released in December 2016, C+ includes the songs Carry On and First of July.
