Ronald Wayne Brown (born July 3, 1961) is a Canadian artist and composer best-known for his development of corner paintings. Born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, he resides in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
In the early 80's while attending the Alberta College of Art in Calgary, his understanding of art possibilities expanded when he assisted on a land drawing project with the artist William Vazan. Another major influence at that time was the instructor/artist Ian Baxter.
Brown moved to Lethbridge in 1984 to complete his B.F.A. and began taking courses in music composition and music history. Inspired by professor Lucien Needham Brown began composing music for the piano, creating a series of short piano pieces in an effort to teach himself piano techniques.

Influenced by an exhibition of work by the artist Jonathan Borofski that he saw in Hamburg in 1984, Brown began to experiment with corner paintings. In 1988 he moved to Edmonton, Alberta to complete an Arts Administration program at Grant MacEwan Community College. To make a living he found work in the field of graphic design; typesetting and illustrating several books and the national magazine Borealis.
In the late nineties he moved to Thunder Bay, where he worked as art educator and coordinator at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. It was there he met Richard Asham and they later formed the band Escape Artist. Currently Brown works at the Department of Lifelong Learning at Lakehead University and spends his free-time composing and recording music, and developing visual art projects.
