Email interactions are guided by general net-etiquette conventions.

As is typical, we log http requests to our server. This means that we know the originating IP address of an agent requesting a URL (e.g. 127.129.90.103). We do not log the specific identity of visitors. We occasionally analyze the log files to determine which files are most requested and the previous site or user agent which prompted the request. Our logging is passive; we do not use technologies such as cookies to maintain any information on users.

Logged information is not disclosed outside of the The Paddle host site personnel. Aggregate (completely non-identifying) statistics generated from these logs may be reported as part of research results. The logs are permanently archived as raw research material.

Email interactions with the site are authenticated. Consequently we have the capability to identify respondents.

• By placing an order with The Paddle, your email address is added to our customer mailing list.

The site is labelled using the Platform for Internet Content Selection (PICS), primarily by the Internet Content Rating Association.

We would encourage the use of content filters to protect our youth from unsuitable material available on the Internet. ICRA offers labeling information and a content filter. The ICRAfilter is free for use by parents and other concerned adults providing it is for their own personal use.
