Prostate Cancer Help in Northwestern Ontario
Welcome to this private site created by a prostate cancer patient in order to help others.
While there is some information specific to prostate cancer care in Northwestern Ontario, most of the site content is general and will benefit patients and their families anywhere.
This Website's Aim
As a new prostate (and then prostate cancer) patient in 2007, I would like to share some of my personal experiences, and information gained from other patients and local sources.
Once cancer of any type is diagnosed, that person's life usually takes on a sense of immediate urgency, and often starts a relentless quest for knowledge pertaining to their situation.
Northwestern Ontario has a small population scattered throughout a vast area of remote wilderness. Most towns are an hour's drive apart, and often are many hours away from the primary centre of cancer care in the City of Thunder Bay.
The remoteness of this region normally makes finding information more difficult than if living in a large city. Thanks to the internet, we can now find information far beyond our geographic area. So links are provided here for some important websites offering detailed information to patients and their families. And some excellent but inexpensive reference books.
As the site develops I hope you will find something here to help, or in some way encourage, your own progress to improved health no matter where you live.
