TBCS Grade 7 Quinzee Overnight 2001 |
|
On the night of February 16, 2001, after much planning and work, the Grade 7 class of Thunder Bay Christian School spent the night in Quinzees which they had built themselves that very day. Even though the temperature dropped to nearly -30 Celsius that night, it was still a great time and a wonderful learning experience for all of us. Please enjoy these pictures that show some of what went on. Thanks to everyone who helped to make it happen.
Here is each group just starting out.
Oh, what a lot of work they have left to do!!

A couple hours and a lot of sweat
later.....

It's dinner time.....nothing like perogies cooked over an open
fire!

Time to crawl in and call it a night in our nice cozy quinzees.
(Some were definitely cozier than others.)

In the morning camp was quiet until
everyone realized that the only warm places were by the fire.....or
busily cleaning up camp.

It's too cold to stand around, lets
take this group picture and get out of here....I can just feel that
warm bath now!

Thanks again,
especially to the parents, but to everyone who helped make our
quinzee overnight a great success!!
