Brief Reports on Old Business:

Remembrance Day Service: Bill would like to thank John Mayo & son Phillip, and Rob & Erin for the laying of wreaths.

Remembrance Day Program: Joy reported it was good, lots of Beavers and Cubs, no Scouts.

Santa Parade: Susan said all went well, those present commented on the great P.R. as the Scout Float made it on the Front Page of our Newspaper. 

B.P Sunday Church Parade: Tom A. is willing to arrange this.

  • David Silliman is still willing to be our Chaplin for Scouting, Susan will talk to him.

Woodbadge Part 11 – Joy reported it is going well, large numbers, very ambitious leaders.

 

New Business:

  • Bill asked what he should do with an old apple day trophy, it was suggested it be recycled into an award for the Volunteer Appreciation Night.
  • Traveling Beaver – Joy reported it is presently at Scouter Kim’s, and will soon be departing to Kenora.
  • Questions on Pro Kids – if you have youth who are registered with Pro Kids, region has a list of names of these kids, when they get the youth’s registration form, they activate the youth for your group at the Regional Office. Nothing can be done until they receive the youth’s registration form.
  • Popcorn Orders- Kelly asked if she can meet Susan at warehouse to get her order – expected delivery is Dec 6th.

 

December Upcoming Events:

 

TBSO Christmas Concert update: Dec 15th, at Community Auditorium – Tickets are $15.00 a seat (balcony seats) $5.00 of that is donated back to the Thunder Bay Area, which will be used to fund various regional events and stay in Thunder Bay. For tickets call Susan at the Scout Hot Line at 343-5784.

 

Scouter’s Pot Luck Christmas Social: Dec 16th – 6:00 pm at Vickers Heights Community Centre, Broadway Ave. Bring your favorite dish to share. Roberta is looking for prizes for this event, so if you have anything to donate as a prize contact Roberta. Hope to see you all there!

 

THERE WILL BE NO REGIONAL AREA MEETING IN DECEMBER

 

Upcoming Events In New Year: emails were read concerning the dates to some of the upcoming events. Changes have been made, please note the changes:

 

 

JANUARY

 

Skating / Badge Swap- Vickers Heights Community Centre

  • Roberta will check with Randy C. on date and email everyone with information and a date.

 

Volunteer Appreciation Night – January 26th – 7:00 pm – Vickers Heights Community Centre

  • Susan to talk to Tom concerning coordinating this special event.

 

Beaver Sharing Session – Joy asked those present & working in Colony Section if they would attend meetings if she started up the monthly meetings again. Those present agreed, and picked Wednesday nights to meet.

  • Joy will get something up and running in January.

 

 

FEBRUARY

 

Beaver Buggy/Kub Kar/18 Wheeler Rally – has been moved to February 23, 2008. Marg has cancelled her trip to Nairobi, Kenya in order to be at this event.

  • To celebrate BP’s birthday a birthday cake will again be arranged for this event.
  • Continue with the use of the Kub kar display stand
  • Ask Stan about making wooden trophies instead of store bought ones.
  • Kelly offered to show Stan what one of her parents did for a Regional Rally to give Stan an idea.

 

 MARCH

 

All Section Winter Games: March 1st – more info to follow

 

All Section Winter Sleepover – has been moved to March 28th

 

APRIL

 

All Section Bowling – April 13th,

·      (Pending availability of bowling alley) more info to follow.

 

MAY

 

Scoutree’s Plant Date – May 10th,

 

JUNE

 

All Section Regional Camp – June 13-15th Grey Wolf Scout Camp
