1. KubKar/18 Wheeler Rally Rules:

  • These rules apply to both KubKar, Pickup Truck and 18 Wheeler Rallys.
  • All vehicles must be raced by a person wearing the nationally approved uniform.
  • Cub built Pickup Trucks will be treated the same as, and will race with, KubKars.
  • The entry must have been made this current scouting year.
  • Each entry should have competed at the Pack/Troop level before entering this Rally.
  • Once a vehicle has been through weight inspection and passed, it will go to the holding area and must not be touched.
  • No test runs before the event.
  • Only a vehicle's driver and members of the race committee will be able to handle the cars and trucks during racing.
  • Cars and trucks must remain on their numbered position on the Car and Truck Park Table when not on the track for a race except for repairs at the Pit Stop and when withdrawn from competition.
  • When the car or truck is in the Pit Stop, its "parking space" must be covered with an "At the Pit" Notice.
  • If a registered car or truck is withdrawn from the competition, the Official Scorer must be notified immediately and its "parking space" must be covered with a "Gone Home" notice.
  • Only Race Control Crew and a races' drivers will be permitted inside of the roped-off race track area and the Car/Truck parking area.
  • If a car has problems running more than once that the Official Pit Crew cannot resolve, it will be disqualified. Interfered-with cars will receive no penalties and heats will be rerun.
  • The Official Scorer has the final decision-making authority in all race disputes.

2. Restrictions:

  • No loose materials, no taping weight down to car.
  • No movable weights or liquids are allowed.
  • Only dry lubricant may be used, such as dry graphite or teflon. It must be applied before weigh-in.
  • Care must be taken to assure that no lubricant will soil the track or interfere with subsequent races on the track.
  • Wheels and axles may not be modified in any way. (Other than removing burrs and molding seams and rough spots.
  • Wheel bearings, washers and bushings are prohibited.
  • No spring suspensions allowed.
  • Details and attachments may be added providing they are securely fastened and do not exceed the maximum length, width, height and weight specifications.
  • KubKars and trucks must be free-wheeling and may only be propelled by the force of gravity.
  • KubKars and trucks are subject to inspection by an official inspection committee to determine eligibility.
  • Official Pit Crews may make small adjustments to the weight of overweight entries as part of the registration process.

Axles and wheels may only be lubricated with a dry lubricant such as dry graphite or Teflon. Silicone spray, WD-40 or oil not be used as it may soften the plastic wheels.
