Scouters 5 - presented by Bill T.

This is Laurie Blackwell's last meeting here in Thunder Bay, he is moving shortly, Laurie has put in 8 years in Thunder Bay and we would like to thank him for great Service.

Fall Camp Report: 103 youth attended the camp, Bill T. would like to thank the Scouts and Ventures for helping him go through the tents.

Popcorn: Everyone should of received their kits by now, there was discussion that the money spent on those kits could have been put to use on recruitment of youth and leaders. All groups are responsible to place their own popcorn orders on line or email David Chezzi at dchezzi@personainternet.com

Woodbadge Part 1: Joy requests all groups send her an email with the names of your new leaders requiring Woodbadge Part 1- Part 1 will be held in January

Council Report: Northern Ontario Council are looking for a Council Youth Commissioner aged 16 or older. Ashlyn F. gave a brief description of the job of a Youth Commissioner.
Council is also looking for a Web Site Manager.
100 Anniversary Crests are now available at the Scout Shop.
There will be a retirement party for Anne Fraser; the scout shop in Sudbury will be closing.

Apple Day: Roberta Wolfe is in charge of this event, apples can be picked up during the week at Cav Tel or on Friday at Knox Church on Prudent St. 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Please let Roberta know when you will be picking up your apples.
Roberta also has Thank-Yous she can do up for you to present to businesses you stand at; let her know if you need them. 25 % of all funds raised from apple day will be given back to each group.

National Commissioner Visit Oct 20th at City Hall in Council Chambers- all leaders encouraged to attend this event in full uniform.

Big Brown's Birthday Nov 2nd - Kim L. is arranging- McDonalds on Memorial Ave McDonalds 6:15 to 7:30, all youth to receive a loot bag.

Christmas Parade: November 21st -Enrico is in charge of event, he is looking for 3 or 4 Christmas tree's to borrow, will need adults to help decorate float, email him at scouter178@gmail.com

Christmas Concert: Susan looking after - more information to come

Christmas Pot Luck - Dec 5th Moose Hall

Scout – Guide Week / Rapid Rally Racers: a vote was taken on where to hold the races it was decided Victoriaville was the best place.

Thunder Wolfs Hockey Game: If your interested contact Joy.

CJ'97 - Matt S. is looking for pictures or articles from CJ'97 for the City Archives and to place on a web site. Needs pictures by Oct 9th.

Winter Games: March 6th

Bowling: April 18th

Spring Camp: June 4, 5, 6

City Events: Joy will get a list of City Events that Scouting Groups can participate in over the next year.

Remembrance Day: Bill T. needs names of Leaders and youth who will be laying the wreaths this year.

Camp Report: The camp usage is up, all is running smoothly, but will need to prepare the camp for the freeze up. There will be a work weekend in Nov 6, 7, 8th Larry would like to invite each group to come out to help. If you need more information on what needs to be done or what you should bring with you contact Larry Lewis at llewis@tbaytel.net
Cabins will be open to spend the weekend or come out for the day. All help will be welcomed.
