New Business:
• The City of Thunder Bay donated three Street Lamps to
Grey Wolf, as soon as there is enough funds to cover the purchase
of wiring the lamps will be installed. So far, a donation of
$500.00 has been received towards this
project.
•Intercity Mall has contacted Susan in regards to Scouting
holding events at the mall. There is no cost providing we are not
fundraising.
•Christmas Concert Fundraiser at Community Auditoriam
– Susan asked if we wanted to do this again, her only
request is for leaders to help sell tickets if they can, but
mostly for leaders to put up the posters around the City and at
businesses. Susan also requested that if anyone in Scouting
attends this event please do so in Uniform! Susan will run this
event. All were in favor.
• Susan will be placing an ad in the Key with in the next
week.
Camp Report:
• Larry reported that the Cabin at Dog Lake is in great
need of a new roof. Larry has obtained three quotes for supplies
to complete this project – Metal Roof $1100.00, Rolled
$550.00 and Tiled $350.00, these quotes were turned over to
Susan. Susan said there is money earmarked for Dog Lake, and she
has gotten approval from the MNR to go in, she also has a boat to
get the supplies in. Susan will put together a budget and present
it to Region. It was felt that Region should cover the cost for
these repairs as Dog Lake Lease is paid for by Scouts Canada,
also Dog Lake is well used by members of Scouts. Dog Lake has a
tradition, and was built by youth, and it would be a good idea if
youth helped to restore it. Larry offered to help in replacing of
the roof. Len Goodwin will head up this event.
Public Relations Report:
Hymers Fall Fair – Len Goodwin felt this would be
an excellent Public Relations event for Scouting due to the flow
of people, groups can camp out, run an event or both. Len will
obtain details for us.
• Westfort Street Fair – Kelly also felt this is a
great one-day P.R. for scouting, we could do a fishpond or face
painting etc. Susan will see if she can book it this year.

Groups are needed to take on
an event to run for the next Scouting Year – please contact
Susan to let her know which event your group wants to
run!
• There was a lot of discussion on events; it was felt that
a group who takes on an event should submit a budget for approval
at a regional meeting. Once the event is complete, a full
financial report along with all receipts and left over funds
should be turned in at the next regional meeting following the
event. If there is any left over funds these funds should stay in
our area and put towards the next event to
lower the cost to the youth participating, and not sent to
Winnipeg!
• Susan reported that she was looking for a treasurer to
take on the job of handling these reports from
events.
