Each month the Circles of Confusion Photography Club selects a word-of-the-month and several times a year there are day trips (Safari). The pictures on this page were taken by club members with these guidelines in mind. The club also had a third open category ("Serendipity"), which featured a members recent "lucky" shot. Months that have multiple entries in the same category are a result of different media (slide, print or digital) being used.

Scavenger Hunt
2002 2003 2004
The annual Scavenger Hunt is open to anyone with a 35mm camera. Registration fee is $20 and prizes are donated by the sponsor (Primary Foto Source) and the Circles of Confusion Photography Club.
Scavenger hunt particpants are given a list of 10 words, 1 roll of film, 72 hours, a limit of 1 entry per word and all participants must submit an entry for each word. The photographer must interpret each word photographically, an image can earn a maximum of 10 points and the person with the most points wins.
The judges look for impact, originality, photographic quality and how well the word has been interpreted.
Note: Due to changing technologies, some of these basic guidelines will evolve over time. For example, in 2004 the type of media was changed to include digital cameras, film users were limited to print film and we had an increase in the number of prizes.

Club Information
The Club
Circles of Confusion is a fun, non-competitive photography club organized by and for amateur photography enthusiasts who are at varying levels of expertise.
The objective is to continue to learn about the many aspects of photography (e.g. lighting, composition, exposure, etc.) with like-minded people. The presence of a professional photographer, John Nistico, as a resource at each meeting further enhances the learning experience.
No one can be taught to take good photographs, but by learning basic techniques and avoiding a few basic errors, you can develop an eye for composition and take better pictures.
The Meetings
Meeting schedule is currently being reviewed.
Membership
Yearly dues are currently under review.
Circles of Confusion:
"A slightly defocused image of a point of light", or
"A group of photographers sitting around trying to understand Depth of Field".
