Canada Approves Emergency Contraceptive

On February 9th, the Canadian government's Therapeutic Products Programme approved for sale "Plan B", an emergency contraceptive drug to rival Preven. In December, 1999, Paladin Labs Inc. acquired the exclusive Canadian distribution rights for Plan B^TM from the Women's Capital Corporation.

Paladin has indicated that it will commence a launch of the new drug in the second quarter of 2000. As a result, Paladin Labs has been added to the Canadian anti-choice boycott of Roberts Pharmaceuticals.
