NOASARA Recipient of a $75,000 OTF Grant
December 3, 2007 - The Northwestern Ontario Air Search & Rescue Association (NOASARA) is the grateful recipient of $75,000 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). This funding will be used to purchase an aircraft which will be used primarily for aerial search and rescue in Northwestern Ontario. This aircraft will increase the ability to train members and respond to distress & emergency calls from the Department of National Defence and the OPP. In addition, this aircraft provides NOASARA with the opportunity to rent the aircraft, through a local flying club, to members of the community. Revenues from aircraft rentals will support NOASARA's Paterson Hangar and the maintenance & operational costs of the aircraft.
NOASARA members are excited about this project and look forward to implementing it in early 2008. NOASARA will also be setting up a reception in early 2008 to recognize The Ontario Trillium Foundation for their outstanding commitment to our organization.
