On December 3 and 4, 2002, NOASARA assisted the Ontario Provincial Police's search efforts for a missing person and vehicle along the route between the city of Thunder Bay and the Lac Des Iles mine. The main focus of the search was the Highway 527 corridor extending north from the Trans Canada Highway and the 15 km stretch of road west from Hwy 527 to the mine site. NOASARA flew a total of 16.6 hours over the two days.
