SIMSAR September 6, 2005

On September 6, 2005, NOASARA members Howard Mortfield, Don Barnard, Debbie Hoyle,& Rob Chandler took part in a SIMSAR in the Dog Lake area. The flight
crew was tasked to complete an expanding square and home in on an ELT
signal. On the ground were Jason Hughes and Roger Leclaire who used many
different methods of signaling so that the spotters can see what they look
like from the air. Signaling methods included ELT, signaling mirror, orange
coat, and a ground signal message L (which means fuel and oil required).

The crew successfully located and spotted the ground people and ELT
.
