NOASARA has had the good fortune of being the recipient of a hangar donated by the Estate of the late John N. Paterson. This hangar, located at the Thunder Bay Airport, has been renovated to provide a permanent facility suitable for a fixed base of operation for aerial searches conducted from Thunder Bay.

The renovations consisted of partitioning the hangar to provide several rooms for use as offices, kitchen, lounge, briefing room, workshop, washroom, and of course a hangar area capable of storing two aircraft. The dedication of NOASARA volunteers has transformed the "Paterson Hangar" into a first class search headquarters.
