On May 22, 2006 an offer of assistance was made to the OPP in support of their search for a missing canoeist in the Black Bay Area. On May 23 two NOASARA aircraft were launched in the early evening and spent a total of 6 hrs searching. No object of interest or targets were located. A few days later OPP divers recovered the body of the missing man. The search coordinator was Chris Chadwick and the radio operator was Ernest Arpin. C-GUNJ (Cessna 182) was the primary search aircraft consisting of Howard Mortfield, Steve Hunsberger, Lori Luck & Neil Armstrong. C-GQMD (Piper Cherokee) was the secondary search aircraft consisting of Jason Hughes, John Celmer, Brenda Daniele & Ken Ironside.
