Our Internet Service Provider:

The Nitesky homepage is now hosted by Thunder Bay Internet.  We believe them to be the very best that the Thunder Bay area has to offer and have found it easy to set up a connection.  Even way out here in Nolalu they have provided us with a DSL connection.

Local Things of Interest:

AquaCare- Your environmentally friendly choice for water coolers and rural water delivery.  John and Rebecca operate their spring water depot over in Gilles Township and just a stones throw from our house.

Atikokaninfo.com- The Northwestern Ontario community of Atikokan.  The Canoeing Capital of Canada.

Belluz Farm - Growing since 1946.

Cedar Falls Conservation Area- Steelhead fishing to die for!  Just a short drive from our house in Nolalu.  Nice hiking trails too.  Bring your heart pills as it is MOSTLY uphill from where you can park your vehicle.   It's also mostly uphill on the way back (situated close to the school your parents attended LOL )

Chronicle Journal- The Thunder Bay and surrounding area daily newspaper.

Conmee Township- Come to Conmee Country.

Fort William Historical Park - With over 40 buildings on 225 acres, Fort William offers a vivid and rich tapestry of fur trade life, running the gamut from culture to crafts, medicine to business, domestic life to heritage farming.

Founders' Museum & Pioneer Village - Take a Walk Through the Past in this unique Northwestern Ontario Pioneer Village.

Gammondale Farm - Gammondale Farm is located in the centre of the Slate River Valley, a highly fertile stretch of land located immediately south of Thunder Bay.  Have fun at Gammondale.  Keep active in the outdoors, hiking, and even ride a huge black work horse!  Theres so much to do year round at Gammondale.

Gillis Township- The township of Gillis.

Homemade Incubators - These poultry incubators are unlike any you have ever been able to find on the NET before.

Hymers Agricultural Society - Proud to bring you the annual Hymers Fall Fair (fun for the entire family) every year on the Sunday and Monday of the Labour Day long weekend.

Kakabeka Crystal - Naturally pure drinking water.  It's BETTER than Perrier (just not as trendy - eh?).  The wells in Nolalu yeld water that is naturally very high in iron so many of our friends and neighbours prefer to drink bottled water.

Kakabeka Falls (pics)- 'Niagara of the North'.  At 128' this falls is almost as high as Niagara  (Niagara being an average 172' high) and though it is not as wide, it is Canadian on BOTH sides.  Kakabeka falls boasts a 128' drop with a 700' gorge cut into our share of the Pre-Cambrian Shield.  Nice pics of the falls during a rare event when the Electric Company is not diverting most of the water for their own uses.

Q - So, ya mean I don't hafta clear customs in order to see this side from over there?
A - Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus    ';^)

Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park- Camping and scenery just twenty five minutes west of Thunder Bay and about twenty minutes North of our house.  One of the few Provincial Parks that is situated close to a major urban center.  Rough it with the kitchen sink right next door. It really is the best of both worlds.

Kakabeka Falls Flying Club- Small planes and gliders flying free as a bird.

Lakehead Region Conservation Authority- Watershed management programs of  Lakehead Conservation include fill regulations, flood & erosion control, resource studies and more.  They operate 2500 hectares of conservation land, including nine Conservation Areas.

Mountain Meadow Bed & Breakfasts- Luxurious living in a beautiful rural setting.  Don't be surprised to see deer feeding in the meadow while you sip tea on the deck and unwind after a peaceful hike.  Tell Margaret that Gordie and Dara sent ya (and maybe she will thank us with some fresh baked pastries).

O'Conner Township - Country living at its best since 1907.

NaturalResources of Ontario - Follow this link to get your own personal copy of Ontario's hunting and fishing regulations (before the 'Antis' finally succeed in spoiling the rest of our hunting and fishing opportunities, as indeed they must).  You will need to download and install Adobe Acrobat Readerin order to view the hunting and fishing regs as they are in '.pdf' format

Shuniah Township- The Corporation of the Township of Shuniah.

Silver Mountain Station - The only railway station from the ill fated  P. A. D. & W railway that is still left standing.  Currently this icon of our local history survives as a restaurant that serves good food, just like mom used to make.  Just a short drive from Nolalu and someone else gets to do the cooking.  Don't be scared but they are in ''STRANGE  township''.  Just tell them that Dara and Gordie sent ya.

St. Augustine / St. Theresa Parish - We attend St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Kakabeka Falls.  Gordie made the web site for St. Augustine / St. Theresa   parish.

St. Urho's Golf Course and Dining Lounge- What a nice way to unwind after a long day.  Urho and Lynda Piilo have transformed former farmland in Nolalu into a 9 hole and par 36 golf course.  There is also a driving range.  The clubhouse features an LCBO licensed dining lounge as well as internet access for their patrons.  This establishment is at the junction of highways 590 & 588 in Nolalu.   Just tell them that Gordie and Dara sent ya.
