Multicultural Youth Centre

The Multicultural Youth Centre was established in 1992 to serve as the RMYC's head office. The Multilcultural Youth Centre is presently located at 511 East Victoria Avenue(Corner Victoria Avenue & Brodie Street) -- next to Armani's Night Club. Its just across Brodie St. from our old place in Victoriaville Mall. The Centre provides a variety of services and resource materials for youths who drop in. Some clients come for general information, advice and counselling, while others drop in to use computers, photocopiers, fax and telephones and other office equipment. Students can use the facility after hours for meetings, study groups, friendship circles and social gatherings. Tutors are provided for those who need help with their school-work or assignments.

The new location has offices and a meeting room up-stairs. An Internet Cafe, with Coffee Bar /Tea garden is on the main floor. There is also room with a large screen TV for movie / video nights.

The space is available free of charge for meetings and workshops to youths planning and organizing activities that empower youths to make a difference. We also rent the Centre for small parties, receptions and meetings. For more information, please call 622-4666.

Community Access Program Site

The Centre is currently apart of the Community Access Program funded by Industry Canada. This means that the Government of Canada provides funding for the youth centre. Computer interns are available to assist computer users on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, and are also present on Saturdays from 3 to 6 p.m.

The Centre is open during the day and late evenings, but there is no direct help outside the interns' set hours.

Please feel free to drop by and use the computers for assignments, e-mails, games or just to browse the net. There are, however some limitations on what the computers can be used for. This means nothing illegal, or that promotes negative lifestyles.
