Ongoing Projects

Below are the projects the RMYC are currently working on.


Project 21

Project 21 is a youth art competition promoting multiculturalism organized by the RMYC. It is inspired by the International Day for the Elimination of Racism on March 21. In commemoration of this day, the Youth Council will be holding an art exhibit in liaison with the local art community to promote multiculturalism. CLICK FOR MORE INFORMATION!


The Heath Engaging Youth Project (HEYou)/The New Mentality

The Heath Engaging Youth Project (HEYou) is a "New Mentality" initiative at the Multicultural Youth Centre. It is a network of people between the ages of 13 to 25 interested in creating change by raising awareness on mental health and mental issues. Creating Local Connections Canada/TakingITGlobal

Creating Local Connections is a project of Taking IT Global, based at the Youth Centre:

Creating Local Connections Canada (CLC Canada) is an integrated three-year program (2006-2009) of TakingITGlobal with a goal of inspiring, informing, and involving youth as engaged participants in Canadian society through: awareness and access, collaboration and communication, and capacity building initiatives. CLC Canada is a collaborative initiative aimed at promoting and supporting youth participation in Canada.

The goals of the CLC Canada program are: * To raise awareness and provide access to youth opportunities and resources * To connect and encourage collaboration between youth/youth initiatives * To strengthen the capacity of youth/youth initiatives in Canada

The project is implemented in partnership with the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation.
