Just west of Lake Superior in Northern Ontario, a mighty waterfall still echoes with the courage and defiance of a legendary Ojibwa princess. Captured by a party of enemy warriors who demanded that she take them to her father's village. Princess Greenmantle went instead to Kakabeka Falls, a place that had always refreshed and restored her people. Now, it would protect them with the sheer cliffs after which it was named, a weapon as powerful as Greenmantle's proud refusal to betray those she loved. Paddling her canoe over the falls, Greenmantle led the invaders to their deaths on the jagged rocks below. Their angry voices will never stop crying out in the roaring waters and her victorious spirit still dances in the Northern Lights.
