Microsoft SQL Server is the big brother
of Microsoft's database products. SQL Server is the
client-server database designed for enterprise sized
applications. SQL Server competes (or tries to compete)
with Oracle in the large end of the database market. Size,
for the most part, is not an issue with SQL Server. SQL
Server can be used as a powerful and secure back-end
database server and Access
or FoxPro
can be used as the front-end application environment. For
this reason, existing FoxPro and
Access applications that are growing or require more
speed or security, can be migrated to SQL Server.
