The Vision for
CJOA 95.1 FM
Thunder Bay Christian Radio is a group of Christians who live and work in the Thunder Bay area. In addition to being committed to our our own churches, we have been drawn together with a common vision of ministering to the spiritual needs of the people of Thunder Bay. Since 1984, we have gained experience in both radio and television broadcasting, and have learned the ins and outs of applying for a broadcast licence.
Our first official day of broadcasting was December 20th, 1998
Our group is interdenominational, with representatives from several different churches. Our first meeting was held in early 1994. Our Board of Directors now meet bi-weekly. We believe that there is a need for this radio ministry to complement the work of the church in both spreading the Gospel and in ministering to the Christian community.
We are grateful to Paul Straiton, David Spencer, Dennis Pringle and Roger Debrabant the many others who planted seeds for radio music ministry here in Thunder Bay.
We believe and adhere to:
1. The Holy Scriptures are originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2. One God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His personal return in power and glory.
4. The salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
5. The Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
6. The unity in the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, and the Body of Christ.
7. The resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
