So, you got the gang together, and you've made a recording. Now, you're looking to find someone to play it! We at CJOA try to encourage new groups and artists, but we do have a few things we need in order to give you coverage.

First-please make sure it is a professional recording. We have received so many cd's that have good words, but you can't hear them for the heavy reverb and overdubbed drum tracks from someone's home recording unit. Or there is one singer slightly out of tune on the chorus. Yes, it is noticeable! Your music is an important ministry-you are doing your absolute best for the Lord, and your production, as well as your music and lyrics-should reflect this.

We receive 10-20 independent releases each week. Most of these groups are people we do not yet know, so we need some of your background. We require your band's Christian testimonies, your relationship with Christ, and the names and addresses of your home churches. We also require a letter(s) of recommendation from your pastor(s), youth leader, or someone who has sponsored a concert you have performed in. We keep these on file, in case there is any question as to your band's ministry and background. If there is any hesitation on your part to do this, please do not send your CD-it will not be used.

If you are Canadian, so much the better! There is a definite increase in Canadian Christian artists, and we feel that it is up to the Canadian radio stations to support these new ministries. If we won't play 'em, who will????

Please understand that we will give your music a listen and decide if it's suitable for airing- we have volunteers with varied music interests, and we have them listen and give us their honest opinions on the material. There is no guarantee that we will air your music, but we will try!
