As time goes on there will be obits listed from a number of papers here in Thunder Bay, as well as other cities. For now the column labeled 'IN' will contain the following codes which signify the noted newspaper.

    CJ - The Chronicle Journal - Thunder Bay, Ontario.
    SS - The Sault Star - Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
    SW - Sault This Week - Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

    Several of the obituaries showed the person was born in Thunder Bay. The city of Thunder Bay was created in 1970 from the amalgamation of Fort William and Port Arthur. If the age of the person is such that they were born before 1970, the entry of Thunder Bay is misleading and should be read as Fort William or Port Arthur. These records are noted with an * beside the entry for Thunder Bay.

    The date format for the records in the Table is YYYYMMDD.

    In a few cases information missing from the obits (designated as Not given) has been determined from another source. In those cases the information is enclosed in [square brackets]. If you can help fill in some of the missing fields please contact me.
