Sale and Pelletier

On Monday, September 19, 2005 AIDS Thunder Bay and Tbaytel will present THE ICE SHOW, an outstanding skating show that will melt the ice at the Gardens. This is a marquee event starring Canadian Gold Medal Olympic champions, Jamie Salé & David Pelletier, joined by Olympic Gold Medalist, Alexei Yagudin, and Olympic Silver medalist, Brian Orser, and More! This is a premiere marquee event that has been created for Thunder Bay, you will not see this show performed anywhere else! Tickets are on sale at $49.50 per person at the Fort William Gardens Box Office.

This isn’t just any skating show. It is a marquee event with Canadian and World Champion ranking figure skaters. It headlines many exciting skaters:

  • Jamie Salé and David Pelletier – Olympic Gold Medalist, 4 time Canadian Champion, 2 time World Champion
  • Alexei Yagudin - Olympic Gold medalist, 4 time World Champion, 3 time European Champion and World Professional Champion
  • Brian Orser - Canadian National Champion, Olympic Silver Medalist at Calgary and Sarajevo and World Free Skating Champion
In addition the roster will include Steven Cousins (British Champion), Yuka Sato (World Champion) Jennifer Robinson (six-time Canadian Champion) and Jozef Sabovcik (6 time Czechoslovakian Champion and Olympic Bronze Medalist).

AIDS Thunder Bay is in its 20th anniversary year. THE ICE SHOW honours the work of the agency and coincides with the anniversary theme: reflect. connect. respect. It’s an opportunity to reflect on the past, make a connection with the community, and respect the mission of AIDS Thunder Bay to help people and families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Although this is a different type of fundraising event for AIDS Thunder Bay, all net proceeds derived from this event stay in Thunder Bay to provide for our programs and services. We hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year; this only difference is in a matter of the scale. THE ICE SHOW is both a fundraising and awareness building opportunity for AIDS Thunder Bay. The awareness from this high profile show is a reminder that HIV/AIDS is a part of our community affecting many people and that there are many ways to support ATB: donations, pledge collections. Through THE ICE SHOW we are providing an outstanding evening of family entertainment with world renowned skaters, that will result in funds raised for programs and services in our community.

Tickets will only be sold through the Fort William Gardens Box or through the Gardens phone line at 625-2929. Please note that there will be no line tickets for this event. Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. For further information about the concert and AIDS Thunder Bay please call 345-1516.
